Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.' It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Javon Outlaw
Class: 2019
Committed to: Catawba

What the Player Said:

Q: What made Catawba the place for you in the end' What went into your decision'

Outlaw: What really made me decide was the instant connection I built with the coach as well as the school.' It was just a great energy and feeling I got when I visited the campus and the experience really stood out to me, compared to other schools I took interest in.

Q: What are you hoping to bring to the program, basketball-wise'

Outlaw: I feel that I am an all-around team player and that the atmosphere of the team will fit me best.

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

'He's a wing that does a number of things at a solid level; he has laid the foundation for what he will become. Offensively, Outlaw knocks down shots on all three levels but doesn't force the action. Instead, he can spot up or play as a secondary creator, both of which he does at a quality level. On the other end, Outlaw does everything possible to make life undesirable for his opponent by constantly staying right in front and allowing for no space to operate' ' Fall 2018

'Javon is a perfect example of what a coachable player should be.' Javon is a hard worker that does everything possible to win.' Javon is one of the best defenders we have and uses his length to make it very difficult for anyone to get a good shot off.' On the offensive side, Javon has one of the quickest first steps I've seen.' His ability to get to the basket is one of his strong points.' ' Feb 2019

'Outlaw is a consistent two-way presence with his ability to use his length to create havoc and guard multiple positions on the defensive end, to go along with his 3 level scoring capabilities on the offensive end.' He played a major role on a Wayne Country Day team that had a huge run in the NCISAA playoffs and should be a great addition to most D2's late 2019 recruiting class.' Hopefully, he can build the momentum from this game and find a way to carry it through the rest of April so he can garner some more interest in that live period.' ' April 2019
