Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Marcus Morgan
Class: 2022
Committed to: Roanoke College

What Morgan Brings to Roanoke:

Marcus Morgan is a great get for the program, as the versatile guard has flown under the radar throughout the state of North Carolina.  He has really good size at 6’2 and plays with a terrific balance and feel on the court.  He is the younger brother of Matt Morgan and brings a nice two-way ability for his team.  Morgan can score and create for himself but also sees the floor really well, finds his teammates, and helps on the boards.  As you can tell from his stats last year, giving you a glimpse of what he provides, Morgan can really fill it up and impact the court in a variety of ways on both ends.

Stats Last Season:

Morgan had a strong junior campaign, even though it was cut short.  Through 11 games, Morgan averaged 8.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 2.3 steals per game, really showing how much of a stat-stuffer he can be.  We expect a big year as a senior at Cox Mill, helping lead the charge.

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

“2022 Marcus Morgan looks to be the leader once again but he won’t be alone, as this is a group that will have depth.  Morgan though is one of the clear leaders, as he is a do-it-all, stat-filler guard that plays with a nice understanding and with a good IQ on the floor.”

“Morgan is a very intriguing 6’2 prospect with the pedigree that college coaches like.  He brings that point guard mentality that absolutely fills up the stat sheet, whether it is finding his teammates, rebounding, or showing that he can score from multiple levels.  It is why his recruitment continues to pick up and offers are coming his way.  Smooth, shifty, and smart player on the court.”
