Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Micah Jones
Class: 2023
Committed to: Palm Beach Atlantic University

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

'He's a smart, quick point guard prospect with sharp vision and the ability to touch the paint at will. Jones finishes well for his size, but typically looks to create opportunities for others. He's a quality ball-handler, defender, and overall decision-maker with great instincts for forcing turnovers and making plays in transition. Coach Geter on Jones: 'Micah has great court vision and can see the play before it happens. Crafty guard who creates space well. He can work on his shooting range and playing off two feet more often. Needs to increase his motor at times. Very coachable. Micah needs to add more confidence in his jumper.' Jones enjoyed a nice showing at camp, and should be poised for a notable senior season at Holly Springs.'

'Jones was a superstar in the playoffs which catapulted him onto our first team. He averaged 15.8p, 5.8a, 2.5r, and 1.4s per game on the season and led Holly Springs to the postseason number 1 ranking in Wake County. He missed a few weeks due to an ankle injury, which would make it nearly impossible for a player to make first-team all-county, but his elevated status during the Hawks final four run was more than enough to secure his spot on this team. He has the ability to completely take over games like very few people in the area can.'

'Jones has superb quickness and has the ability to score from all three levels. The southpaw has a nice hesitation and change of pace dribble that often gets defenders off balance. Jones has the ability to finish at the rim using either hand and more importantly has outstanding touch and range on his jumper. Defensively, Jones has excellent anticipation and active hands.'

''His abilities as an extremely quick, heady, intelligent floor general allow him to reliably set the tone on both ends of the floor. Jones is quite patient and doesn't force the action, but utilizes his blinding first step to blow past defenders, touch the paint, and make correct reads with unwavering consistency. He sees the floor extremely well and knows how to get his teammates the ball in favorable spots, but can also assert himself as a scorer in numerous ways. Jones finishes strong, especially for his size, and can hit jumpers at a respectable percentage from the perimeter. He's a really pesky defender with the ability to mirror opponents at the point of attack and force turnovers at a quality rate.'
