Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Jefferson McLamb/ Luke Grace
Class: 2022
Committed to: Southwestern Illinois College

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

Jefferson McLamb:

'He's a sturdy, team-first wing prospect with excellent finishing ability, especially when attacking the basket and looking to meet opponents at the rim. McLamb plays with a high motor and finds ways to get involved defensively and on the glass. He utilized his body well around the basket, both to secure rebounds and create space for finishes.'

'McLamb had a strong performance, scoring 19 points and securing five rebounds; even gave us a few highlight plays. McLamb though is one to really watch for, as the 6'5 senior can score in an array of ways. He makes quick, decisive decisions offensively, whether it is knocking down shots from the perimeter, putting it on the deck to create, or getting downhill and showing off his sneaky bounce and finishing at the rim. Gets out well in transition but doesn't force anything offensively; plays well within the offense. He is one that coaches should be looking at more.'

'The 6'5 prospect can be effective in an array of ways; he has the size, the skillset, he shows the ability to score in a variety of ways, displays good athleticism with his game, battles on the boards, and is a solid ball-handler on the court.  McLamb's ability to finish at the rim, get out in transition, play multiple positions, or get to his spots on multiple levels with his shot makes McLamb an intriguing prospect to look at.'

Luke Grace:

'Starting with Grace, he has put on some strong performances so far including winning MVP honors at the November Classic. The 6'9 forward can be a tough matchup on the floor.  He showed a tremendous touch and ability to stretch the floor with his perimeter shot, feeling extremely comfortable in stepping out for his shot or excelling in pick and pop situations.  If he can't find his shot from outside, Grace also showed a good feel down in the post with his back to the basket, using his footwork and skill to score.'

'Grace plays a key role for this team, as the 6'9 senior helps down low but really opens up the offense with his comfort level from behind the arc.  The stretch forward operates well from three, getting to his spot and knocking down threes when left open.  Grace also shows good footwork and fundamentals down in the post, scoring around his defender.'

'2022 Luke Grace (Wesleyan) was off the charts, even in a tough loss.  But the big man continues to show and surprise many with his production. Even though he isn't the most athletic forward, he has great touch, finishes well around the basket, gets to the free throw line, and can step out with a really good looking and smooth shot.'
