What is LSU getting in Phillips:
There is a reason why so many outlets have Julian Phillips as one of the premier talents in the country and LSU made it clear that they wanted him on campus. Countless times, they made Phillips a priority to come and see him in action over the summer and fall and it paid off in the end, as he announced his commitment to the Tigers. So what is LSU getting in Phillips? Phillips is a 6’7, versatile prospect that really impacts the floor in so many ways. He is an absolute matchup nightmare offensively with his explosive game, while also showcasing his ability to operate on so many levels as well as create for himself. He can score inside, he can score outside with his improving shot, and is terrific in transition; such a great athlete on the floor that finishes at the rim as well. Defensively, he has that long, lengthy frame to along with tremendous mobility that helps him defend multiple positions as well as a shot-blocker at times. There is still a ton of potential with his young man but it is easy to see why he was regarded by many as one of the top prospects in the country.
