Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Michael Gray
Class: 2021
Committed to: George Mason

What the Player Said:

Q: What made George Mason the place for you in the end?
Gray: I felt that their coaching staff was great and the school as a whole would help me become the best person I could be.

Q: How did you inform the staff and what did they say when you told them?
Gray: I called Coach Paulsen and let him know I was committing.  He and the staff were super excited.

Q: What are you hoping to bring to the program as far as your game goes?
Gray: I want to bring toughness, a winning mentality, facilitating, and a scoring threat to the program.

Q: How would you best describe your game on the court in your own eyes?
Gray: I would say I’m a point guard that can play on or off the ball, gets others involved but is also a volume scorer.

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

“Getting the first glance at Gray, once certainly came away impressed with the junior guard.  He absolutely screams toughness as a point guard, with his ability to break down defenders one-on-one, play through contact, and score from each level.  His recruitment should certainly be on the rise, as a program will be getting a physical guard that plays with a determination.” – Patrick O’Brien from VISAA

“Michael is a strong and athletic guard who combines sound playmaking skills with strong scoring instincts and a pure shooting stroke. He finds a nice mix between creating offense for teammates where he uses a crafty handle, great vision and the ability to get to the paint almost at will while also piling up points himself by stretching the floor with excellent shot making skills from all levels and the ability to use his strong, athletic frame and quickness to get to the rim and score.” – Frank Bennett in 2018

“A high IQ and court savvy playmaker Michael controls the pace of games and demonstrates great leadership qualities and consistency.  A strong guard with good quickness he can get anywhere he wants with the dribble.  He’s an impact force on both ends of the floor.” – Phenom Hoops
