Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Leland Walker
Class: 2022
Committed to: Eastern Kentucky

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

'Leland Walker is one of the most explosive combo guards I've seen, and this was on display Friday night. Walker added 15 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals in their win over Combine Academy Post Grad. 11 of those 16 points came in the second half where he showcased his ability to beat you off the bounce and make plays for himself and others. He is electric in the open court.'

'We are quite familiar with Walker and he continues to not disappoint.  Walker is really at his best when he puts the pressure on the defense and gets downhill.  He excels out in transition in finishing, but also creating space to attack the paint and either finish or make the defender foul, getting to the line.  Tough guard to stay in front of at times with good athleticism and body control. Walker was terrific, scoring 24 points to lead his team.'

'We got a chance to see Walker on several occasions this summer and he immediately grabbed our attention.  So it was great to check him out again with Team Teague, a program that is must-see TV for college coaches.  Walker was just another big-time prospect that performed exceptionally well in the spotlight. He plays with a tremendous pace and is extremely good at getting to his spots, finishing at the rim and through contact, and creating for himself on the court. He has a quick first step and brings that physical/mental toughness that college coaches absolutely desire.  Walker holds an impressive list of offers already but expect more to come in his way, especially after what was seen in Rock Hill once again.'

'2022 Leland Walker is another fast-rising guard that holds offers from Providence, Xavier, DePaul, VCU, and others.  He brings athleticism and shiftiness to the court, and simply brings a toughness that many guards don't have, especially at 6'0.  You just better watch out because this young man can score in an array of ways and is explosive.'

'Walker poses a quick first step in his game, aggressively attacking defenders and really can fill up the scoresheet.' He is a high-flying guard that is also shifty in the open court.' Tough to stay in front of this young man.'
