Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: David Dixon
Class: 2022
Committed to: Duquesne

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

'Speights Academy was a new program coming up to SC and they certainly impressed, something you will read about later in this article. But Dixon, as this was our first viewing of the forward, was incredibly impressive throughout the weekend. We are talking about a 6'8 worker down in the post; a forward that has really good instincts for the ball, attacking the boards, and scored with either hand and great touch. Dixon has a tremendous motor on the floor and seemed to be everywhere around the paint, making plays. Was really impressed with this young man and college coaches should be taking notice.'

'2022 6'8 David Dixon is an absolute monster down low. So active, gets his hands on everything, has a tremendous motor, and finishes extremely well around the basket. College programs need to look his way!' ' Patrick O'Brien

'6'8 2022 David Dixon (Speights Academy) has showcased the ability to get it done on multiple spots on the court. Catch & shoot 3. Strong drive. Tough finisher in the paint. Just caught a body off the drop step.' ' Colby Lewis

'Dixon was arguably the top 2022 prospect in attendance at the event. In my humble and honest opinion, Dixon is a player who is being vastly under-recruited. He's a player that could without question play in leagues like the A-10 or the American. At 6'9, he has a great mix of size, skill and athleticism. He has the ability to beat you from a variety of spots on the court. He can score in the post with his back to the basket. He can take you out on the perimeter, knock down the catch and shoot three, and attack off the bounce and get to the rim. Defensively, he does a tremendous job of protecting the rim. Friday night, he finished with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in their win over Fork Union. Dixon currently holds offers from Morehead State and Jacksonville State.'

'First time seeing this young man in action and liked what I saw. Loved his activity level on the floor, as the 6'8 forward plays with a strong feel down low in the paint, has good low-post moves, finishes strong around the rim, and has a tremendous motor.  He is an absolute workhorse on the court.'
