Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Babacar Mbengue
Class: 2023
Committed to: DePaul

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

'First time getting to see the 7-footer from Olympus and though there is still some development left to be made with his game, you can see that there is a ton of potential.  Mbengue tried to rip the rim off whenever he could, finishing with several throwdowns while also manning the paint, attacking the boards, and being a strong rim-protector.'

'Although there's a ton of enticing talent, one could legitimately argue that Mbengue has as much upside as anyone in the building. He's big, strong, and pretty fluid, especially for his size. Mbengue does a great job of anchoring the paint on both ends, able to control the glass, protect the rim, and score as needed. He's physically overwhelming and does a great job of making an impact without requiring touches. His upside as a rim-runner who simply finishes, rebounds, and blocks shots should make him coveted by high-level programs throughout the country.'

'The phrase sky is the limit couldn't be more true when you look at the potential in the 7'0 prospect. Length is insane, he's already developed a stout muscular frame and he literally looks to dunk everything. The paint is a no fly zone with him protecting it and he's only get better as he gets stronger and quicker. Holds a couple D1 offers currently, but look for the stock to keep rising as his raw untapped skillset peaks.'

'The 7-footer made his presence well-known early on, as he looked to rip the rim off nearly every time he touched the ball around the basket.' The big man showcases his ability to finish strong but there is still room to grow in his game, which makes him even scarier.' He should have more college coming his way very soon.'
