Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Demar Anderson
Class: 2021
Committed to: Coker

What the Player Said:

Phenom: What made Coker the place to call home for you?

Anderson: What made Coker the place to call home was the coaching staff. From the first day they started recruiting me, I knew it was the place. The coaches just started showing heavy interest in me and showing that they care.

Phenom: What kind of relationship have you been able to build with them?

Anderson: I’ve been able to build a strong relationship with the coaching staff. I’m able to call them family & a forever brotherhood.

Phenom: What are you hoping to bring with your game to the program?

Anderson: I’m hoping to bring my defense to the team, a scorer at all 3 levels, and also become a leader on the court.

Phenom: Have they mentioned how they think you can fit in with them and what you can bring to the program?

Anderson: Yes, they have said I could bring my IQ, scoring ability, and defending ability to their team, making them better.

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

“We look at a player that simply possesses a natural feel and understanding as a scorer, Demar Anderson. He’s a strong, tough, smart wing prospect with the ability to assert himself from all three levels while being an effective defender and two-way rebounder. Anderson can create for himself with relative ease and mixes it up quite regularly with the ball in his hands.” – NC Top 80 Evaluation

“Even with a lineup full of Division I prospects, Anderson shines with his two-way ability. He’s a reliable all-around scorer with IQ, size, skill, strength, and athleticism. Anderson can dictate the offensive action with relative ease, setting up others while seizing any easy scoring opportunities available. He displays quality defensive instincts, rebounds the ball well for his position, and makes great decisions in transition. Anderson already clearly has the makings of a scholarship-level player, and would make an excellent asset at a wide variety of programs in the collegiate game.” – Jeff Bendel

“Defensive perspective, he is an absolute beast. Was impressed with his defensive capability and he is a hard worker. Anderson also has a high basketball IQ but also is a quiet leader; does all the little things that coaches love, whether it is scoring or defending.  He improved on his three-point shooting and once fully back, he should pick up right where he left off at.” – Victory Christian HC Marcus Dilligard
