Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Justin Banks
Class: 2022
Committed to: Catawba

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

'Continuing onto a player whose adaptable, low-maintenance identity should make for a seamless transition into North Carolina, Justin Banks. He's a big, mobile, strong-bodied forward prospect with phenomenal athleticism and the necessary frame to overwhelm opponents. Banks actually excels at the little things but also possesses a useful collection of skills. He plays with a high motor, blue-collar approach, and visible toughness on both ends of the floor. Banks is a constant threat for lobs in transition and accumulating putback finishes around the basket. He's a great rebounder and finisher with defensive instincts and the ability to cause problems for opponents with his transition presence. Next in his development process is working on his consistency as a perimeter shooter, as it would simply add another dynamic to his game. Coach Bethel on Banks: 'Justin is a long forward that plays his role very effectively. He rebounds well and runs the floor hard in transition. Very explosive, mobile player.' Banks enjoyed a terrific showing at camp, and should be an obvious target for various programs as he enters his senior season at Moravian Prep.' – NC Top 80 evaluation

'His length, athleticism, high motor, and clear willingness to do whatever possible to provide his team with an edge leads to natural production on both ends of the floor. Banks is a low-maintenance offensive player with the ability to lurk around the basket and capitalize on opportunities within the flow of the action. He can finish below the rim and step out for the occasional jumper, but primarily looks to rise above opponents and power through contact. Banks runs extremely well for his size and makes a pretty consistent impact in transition. He sets the tone as a rebounder and shot-altering presence from inside the paint.'

'There is undeniable value in understanding how to produce within a role, and Banks might be the best, most overqualified role player in the state. This sentiment has more to do with the team structure than anything else, as it allows him to comfortably find opportunities without needing a lot of offensive touches. Between what Banks provide as a finisher, rebounder, and shot-blocker, he doesn't really need to do much else in order to make a lasting impression. He displays a high motor and clearly understands how to position himself for success on both ends of the floor. Bank’s length, toughness, and blue-collar identity fit perfectly within Moravian Prep's scheme. Again, he's one of the best rebounders, defenders, and overall interior pieces within the state.'
