Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: CJ Wilson
Class: 2022
Committed to: Averett

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

“2022 CJ Wilson Jr is a leader on the court but an offensive threat with his strong built at a guard.  He shows a nice blend of initiating the offense, seeing the floor, and being a playmaker but also being a consistent scorer from all levels and strong in transition. Wilson is only looking to continue what he showed this past season.”

“CJ Wilson has been the heart and soul for this talented Cox Mill teams. He’s strong, tough, and resilient. Wilson just does so many things well for coach Ty Johnson. Wilson finished with a solid all-around game of eight points, six rebounds, and three assists. “

“Standing a strong and sturdy 5’9, Wilson utilized his overall strength to his advantage. Wilson finished with 20 points and continuously got into the lane where he finished or drew contact and fouls. He’s one of the area’s toughest competitors and brings a no-nonsense approach to the game.”

“Wilson is one of the more underrated unsigned seniors in the state but he showed his ability to play a physical game and use his frame to his advantage, whether it was getting to the basket or showing touch on his shot. He finished the night leading the way with 16 points for Cox Mill.”

“He’s a strong, compact floor general with IQ, toughness, and the ability to steadily outwork his assignment on either end of the floor. Wilson is a useful playmaker and capable scorer but tends to maintain a fairly balanced approach overall. He defends opposing point guards well, understands how to produce without the ball in his hands, and stands out as a positive teammate in every context. Wilson isn’t necessarily going to blow folks away with his size or athleticism, but his production continually speaks for itself. After receiving two offers, one would expect Wilson to earn plenty of attention throughout the upcoming season.”
