Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Mikhail Pocknett
Class: 2023
Committed to: King University

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

'He's able to shine as a leader through his fairly versatile, well-rounded game. Pocknett naturally causes matchup problems with his blend of size, strength, and ball skills. He gets downhill with consistency, finishes around the basket, and sets up others at a quality rate. Pocknett rebounds his position well and is capable of pushing the break in transition and making proper decisions with the ball in his hands. He utilizes his body well defensively to play physically and force turnovers.'

'It's difficult to say anything that hasn't already been mentioned, as Pocknett continues to dominate as a primary option for this squad. He's a strong, mobile forward who thrives at securing rebounds, pushing the break, and consistently finishing around the basket. Pocknett can knock down the occasional jumper and understands how to set up others at a useful rate.' Later followed by, 'There were a lot of notable contributors for Flight 22 Prep, which certainly includes Pocknett and everything he brought to the table. He's a strong, versatile wing/forward prospect with an understanding of how to initiate the offense, get downhill, and create scoring opportunities for himself and others. Pocknett defends and rebounds his position effectively, displaying the ability to force turnovers, secure extra possessions, and convert second-chance opportunities.'

'Pocknett may have had the best weekend out of everyone at the event and I'm sure there are a few college coaches that are taking a hard look his way more.  In the two games we watched him, he was unstoppable, getting downhill, finishing through contact, getting to the line, pushing the ball in transition after a rebound, and all over the boards.  He went 31 on Day 2, finishing with a double-double and then backed that up with a 38-point impressive showing on Day 3.  The unsigned senior was an absolute beast on the floor and for the most part, looked unstoppable.'
