Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Freddie Dilione
Class: 2023
Committed to: Tennessee

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

“He’s a long, skilled, athletic wing prospect with the necessary size, creation skills, and three-level scoring prowess to consistently dominate an offense. Dilione can apply scoring pressure from anywhere on the floor, but has the vision and defensive instincts to alter his approach as needed. Coach Bernardi on Dilione: “In any gym that Freddie walks into, he has a legitimate case to be the most talented player. At his size, his ball-handling and shot-making abilities are very impressive. He can create his own shot very well. The question with Freddie will be how does he impact winning. He must continue to defend and showcase his passing abilities. Great kid who will probably make a lot of money playing this game.”

“Dilione might have been the player of the event, not only helping his team to two strong and big wins over The Burlington School and Moravian Prep but also what he was able to show.  With what he showed, recruitment should only pick up for the 6’5 guard.  Dilione was terrific in showing his presence as a ball-handler, weaving through the defense, playing with his head up, finding his teammates, and playing under control in breaking the pressure.  You add that to his scoring combination of inside and out, creating for himself, and hitting big shots in both games, Dilione showed his complete game.”

“It shouldn’t be considered a hot-take to point out that Dilione clearly has the most enticing toolkit of anyone within this list. For those with hesitations, they should imagine the possibilities of having a skilled, athletic 6-foot-5 wing who possesses his level creation skills and scoring prowess. Dilione has assumed more ball-handling responsibilities with Word of God, and it’s allowing him to consistently showcase vision, leadership, and the ability to dictate an efficient offensive machine. He mixes it up very well as a scorer, plays effectively in transition and the half-court, and has proven capable of finding success with or without the ball in his hands.”

“There might not be a player that has seen his stock rise with college programs more than 2023 Freddie Dilione. But when you watch him and his play this high school season and summer, it is easy to see why.  Dilione has proven to be a gamechanger on the court, impacting the game in a variety of ways, scoring the ball extremely well, and filling up the stat sheet.  It seems like almost every day, Dilione added a new high-major offer with the latest ones coming from UConn, Georgia, Indiana, Alabama, Texas A&M, Rutgers, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Tennessee, NC State, and several others in the last month.”

“Dilione only continued to elevate his play, showing his ability to use his 6’5 frame to score from multiple levels, bully defenders and create for himself, provide another ball-handler on the court, and impact the floor in a variety of other ways. Dilione has been playing with something to prove for quite some time now; his ability to create, his scoring prowess, his vision, his leadership… are all things that can immediately stand out.  And in knowing Dilione for some time now, this is a young man that comes out to prove why he should be considered an even bigger national prospect.”
