Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Zane Caudle
Class: 2022
Committed to: Brevard College

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

'Starting things off, we look at a player that made a pretty nice impact despite his lack of true size, Zane Caudle. He's an undersized point guard with an unselfish, team-first approach on offense. Caudle consistently looks to set up others and get each of his teammates involved in the action, but is also capable of scoring within the flow of the team. He positions himself well on defense and does a great job of pitching the ball ahead on fast-break chances' Coach Prince on Caudle: 'Zane showed an ability to consistently get to the paint and be able to make plays despite being one of the smallest players on the court. His fearless attitude also shared with his ability to catch and shoot without hesitation from the perimeter stood out throughout the day.' Caudle already displays a quality skillset, so it'll be interesting to watch his continued physical development going forward.'

'Although Caudle isn't particularly big or physically imposing, his IQ and unselfishness is what makes him such a reliable floor general. He's a crafty ball-handler and excellent playmaker with useful scoring ability from multiple levels. Often being the smallest player in the gym (even dating back to his rec-league games at Proehlific Park), Caudle was forced to learn how to cause problems for opponents in spite of his small stature. Now, he should only continue to gain attention from college coaches going forward.'

'Though slightly undersized, Caudle has shown steady progression in his development as a floor general over the years. He looks quite comfortable dictating the action with the ball in his hands, displaying confidence and the understanding of how to properly set up his teammates. Caudle is a capable shooter but prefers to probe the opposition and find the best available shot. He also positions himself for success as a defender and rebounder.'

'5'9 Zane Caudle of Backpoint USA 10th Cook 16U is a pass first point guard. Really crafty dribble that allows him to break down defenders and create for his teammates. High IQ who is a great passer. Can shoot the ball well off the catch. Controls the tempo of the game and place at his own pace.'
