Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Omarion Bodrick
Class: 2022
Committed to: Youngstown State

What is Youngstown State getting:

Call me a fan of this! What a get for Youngstown State who came in with a recent offer and got Bodrick on a visit. That is all that was needed for Bodrick to commit. Now, he will join his former teammate in Jacori Owens and really bring fans an exciting player to watch. Bodrick is a unique prospect on the court. We are talking about a 6’7 freak athlete forward that makes his presence felt on both ends of the floor. But the biggest factor that Bodrick brings to the table is on the defensive side, as he is an incredible shot blocker with great timing, showing off that elite athleticism. He moves so well, can run the floor and get back to create havoc or block a few shots, and has the ability to erase opportunities for opponents. Offensively right now, Bodrick shows flashes on the floor as a high-flyer and one that excels in transition but also moves well in the halfcourt. Bodrick is a unique prospect in what he brings and if used right, can really be a big difference-maker on both ends and get the crowd on their feet.

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

“Bodrick is one of the most exciting athletes and shot-blockers that we have seen in the 2022 class.  A superb athlete that runs the floor, brings a ton of energy, and simply seems like he can be all over the place.  Bodrick moves extremely well and has sensational timing in blocking shots to go with his athleticism.  Even at 6’7, he will surprise many and makes a living in blocking shots and running the floor to finish on the other end; he does a terrific job in creating transitional plays for his team.”

“Young man is an animal on the court.  Definitely one of the best athletes in NC, he can make a big impact outside scoring; whether it is blocking shots, running in transition, or getting on the boards.  But he uses that athleticism as well to fly high at the rim and finish with authority.  Had a big game on Day 2 on both ends of the court.”

“Give it up for Bodrick, as he was impressive on the defensive end. This is a young man that will rise up against anyone with his athleticism and challenge, and he wins a lot of the time. He blocked multiple shots at the rim, ran the floor, and got on the boards.” – November Classic
