Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Noah Clowney
Class: 2022
Committed to: Alabama

Alabama's Class Shaping Up:

Crimson Tide fans should be absolutely excited about their incoming class, as the coaching staff has done a tremendous job in securing what looks to be a Top-10 or Top-15 class for 2022. Jaden Bradley, one of the top point guards in the country, was the first to get on board, and on Monday, the Alabama coaching staff received some terrific news with the commitments of Brandon Miller, who is one of the top prospects at his position, and then of Noah Clowney from Dorman high school. With three Top-100 caliber prospects coming in, Alabama is looking to make a ton of noise in the coming years.

First Game Viewing of Clowney (Dec. 2019): Phenom Hoops Introduction: 2022 6'9 Noah Clowney (Dorman HS)

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

'Clowney is a high major forward prospect. His mix of size, length, and athleticism is special. He is very active and mobile. He runs the floor really well, finishes strong at the rim, and has nice touch around the basket. He also has the ability to knock down the midrange jumper. Defensively, he excels. He is so versatile. He moves well when switched on guards along the perimeter, guards ball screens, and protects the basket.' – 2020 from Colby Lewis

'The big man plays hard on both ends. What you have to like about his game is that he has such a nice blend of touch and power around the basket, while also being a very mobile big that runs the floor.  Add that on top of his energy and ability to get on the boards, Clowney is going to be one to watch.' – 2020 by Patrick O'Brien

'2022 Noah Clowney has high major all over him. Since getting a glimpse of him last year, you could see that potential. Now bigger, stronger, and being a focal point for his team, his recruitment should take off.' – Sept. 2020 by Patrick O'Brien

'2022 6’10 Noah Clowney could be the best big that this program has had… which is saying a lot. Just scratching the surface but great touch around the rim, along with his blend of power and mobility. Top-100 type player!' – Oct 2020 by Patrick O'Brien

'He's a long, smart, skilled post prospect with phenomenal timing as a rebounder, shot-blocker, and overall defender. Clowney moves extremely well for his size and displays quality athleticism on either side of the ball. He runs the floor hard in transition, finishes effectively with both hands, and knocks down perimeter jumpers at a fairly consistent rate. Clowney plays within himself on both ends of the floor but can reliably increase his role and production as needed. Coach Orr on Clowney: 'Noah is strong around the rim with significant finishing around the boards. He has great post appearance on both ends of the court, which rattles opponents. Each opportunity that Noah steps on the court builds his self-confidence and basketball IQ. He needs some improvement with help-defense, communicating on both ends of the court, and decision-making. Noah is a great shot-blocker, but can be more engaging on both ends of the floor; he was passive at times. Noah is a true presence.' Clowney continues to shine in every possible setting and should emerge as a priority for Division I coaches throughout his upcoming season at Dorman.' – SC Top 80 Evaluation
