Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Jayden Brewer
Class: 2022
Committed to: FIU

What the Player Said:

FIU got themselves a nice find in Brewer. A new name here in North Carolina, Brewer quickly caught our attention with his game and what he provides. A 6'6, long, wiry prospect, he does a terrific job in getting downhill and using his size to his advantage. Whether it is finishing at the rim in transition, creating for himself and penetrating the defense, or rising over defenders with his shot, Brewer has been known to really be an offensive weapon and filling up the stat sheet. He also can guard multiple positions as a wing player, using that same length and wingspan to create trouble for opponents. He still has room to grow and will continue to work on his frame at the next level, but he is an under-the-radar type of talent that can really help the FIU program.

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

'Brewer is one we introduced to North Carolina fans back in June and watching him live in open gym in Week 1 of our Open Gym Tour, he improved his status with us even more with his play.  Brewer is a 6'5, long and athletic prospect that does an excellent job in creating for himself and for others. His vision is highly underrated, he can play on and off the ball, has terrific body control and ability to finish, and is a versatile prospect.  He quickly earned an offer in Week 1 but it shouldn't be the last; he should become a priority for many programs.'

'Brewer is another long-wing type prospect that showed he can operate with the ball in his hands or without.  His ability to use that length and wingspan to his advantage is tough to finish over or around defenders, getting to the rack and showing a soft touch.  But also can facilitate, get in out in transition well, display nice athleticism, and make an impact on the defensive end.'

'It is easy to see why schools are coming his way and honestly, more schools should be looking his way.  Brewer has tremendous length and is at his best when he is getting downhill, getting out in transition, and attacking the rim. He uses his size/wingspan to his advantage in an array of ways, finishing over defenders, knocking down shots, and being an effective defender on the floor.  Brewer can put on an absolute show with his athleticism and scored the ball effectively.'
