Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Gabe Proctor
Class: 2022
Committed to: Guilford

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

'We've all known Proctor for his elite shooting ability, but this season, he has expanded his game and having to play more with the ball in his hands. He utilizes his threat from the perimeter to set up his drives where he makes good decisions in the paint. More importantly, Proctor plays with an incredibly high motor and passion for the game. He is constantly communicating and is always the loudest player in the gym. This energy is contagious.' – Colby Lewis

'I'll say it without any hesitation, in my opinion, Gabe Proctor is a top 3 shooter in the state. Proctor is an absolute clinician shooting the basketball, with mechanics that look as natural as breathing. Effortless and as confident as you'll find from behind the arc. He has the IQ and on-court presence of a coach, and has even coached this group before while nursing an injury. Can only imagine what his game will look like after a few years of college, and what his future in basketball will hold after the fact.' – DeAjai Dawkins

'Gabe is going to be fun to watch this season, as he leads the charge for his team.  We have watched this young man over the years and he continues to show how deadly he can be from outside.  Even if his team is down, the opponent doesn't want to see this young man catch fire from three (and he can certainly do just that), as he hit seven 3-pointers in a close battle on Day 1.' – Patrick O'Brien

'6'2 2022 Gabe Proctor is their only returning starter. In his first year on varsity last year as a junior, Proctor wasted no time making his presence known, averaged 17 points per game, and shooting lights out going 93.5% from the foul line, 52% from two and 49% behind the arc. Proctor has established himself as one of the premier shooters in the state. He can really get hot, has excellent range, and doesn't need much time or space to get the shot off. This year, he will be expected to have the ball in his hands more, and he is looking forward to showing this added dimension to his game. His outside shot spaces the court and forces defenders to really close out hard to him. As a result, Proctor is able to attack closeouts, and he has improved his finishing at the end of drives. More importantly, Proctor plays with incredible energy. He is always the loudest player in the gym. This energy is contagious. Expect Proctor to have a big senior year for the Patriots.' – Colby Lewis Open Gym in 2021
