Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Aaron Murphy
Class: 2022
Committed to: Queens Universit
y

What He Said:

Phenom: What made Queens the place for you in the end?
Murphy: The type of guys that I saw on that team! I saw a bunch of hungry guys that wanted to be pros.

Phenom: What is your excitement and hope that you can bring to the program with your game?
Murphy: I know I can get better every day with that type of team.  Those guys encourage each other. I can bring leadership, dedication, and a winning mentality to the team.

Phenom: How did you tell the staff and what did they have to say when you told them?
Murphy: I called the coach and said I wanted to be a part of that freight train you guys got. He told me I can be leading that freight train.

Phenom: What do they think you can bring with your game?
Murphy: Being even more vocal, making me a better person on and off the court.  I think they will make me a better shooter.

Phenom: What is your excitement about staying in NC and playing in front of your fans and family?
Murphy: It is a blessing that I didn’t have to go far away from my family and love ones.  I play better when I know my family is nearby.

Phenom: Before heading off, what are your goals now for this upcoming season?
Murphy: To be better physically and mentally. Also to get in better shape and win a state championship!

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

“One of the pieces that impressed me the most about Murphy’s game is his communication and leadership. Whether he’s on the court or on the bench, he’s always talking and pointing guys in the right direction. He’s a strong guard with composed ball handling and great vision. He’s really good at finding his teammates spotted up cross-court and seems to always find a way to deliver the pass. His main scoring ability seems to be getting downhill and using his size to muscle his way to the rim.” – Phenom Hoops in 2021

“You simply just have to like how Murphy operates and what he provides to a team. Yes, he is a strong-bodied prospect that uses his frame well to his advantage as he does an excellent job of battling inside the arc and around the paint for his position. But he also makes smart plays and continues to show that he can be a threat from the outside as well. Always active, always on the board, and always working… Murphy brings a lot to the table.” – Patrick O’Brien in 2021
