Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Ike Cornish
Class: 2021
Committed to: Maryland

Coach’s Thoughts (AC Jeff Merritt):

“Maryland is getting a complete player on the floor and an even better person from an amazing family. This time last year, he didn’t have a “recruiting profile” or any hype. His work ethic is his strongest attribute which has allowed him to reach this point in his very young career. And that is not lip service… he loves the game and you cna’t keep him out of hte gym. There is no ceiling for a kid like Ike, he is going to be a start at Maryland and I couldn’t be happier for him and his family.”

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

'They have been on me pretty heavy after a big game in Delaware. That's the hometown, they have invited me to a lot of games over time and I just love the coaching staff and the atmosphere of their games.' – Cornish in a recent article about Maryland

'I'm a very aggressive scorer and love to stay on the go.' – Cornish in how he would describe his game

'Cornish has a nice blend of size and shooting stroke with his game. He has a fluid looking shooting stroke, especially when he squares up but he also can be a secondary ball-handler and create for himself. At times, Cornish displayed that he can get to the rim and finish with flash, as well as get on the boards.' – Patrick O'Brien in 2019 from Battle at the Rock
