Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day. It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.
Here is the latest commitment.
Player: Keon Ambrose
Class: 2020
Committed to: Alabama
What the Player Said:
Q: What made Alabama the place for you in the end'
Ambrose: “Just love their development, coaching staff, Nate Oats’ playbook, and the environment which is that everybody loves the school.”
Q: How did you inform the staff of your decision and what did they have to say after the news'
Ambrose: “I texted them this morning and had a chat with them. They were very happy and telling me that they need me and see the team improving with me there. But overall that they can’t wait to see me.”
Q: What are you hoping to provide early on at the program and what can you bring to the Tide with your game'
Ambrose: “I’m hoping to get much stronger and get to the weight I need to be at. Also, I have to get better handles and handle pressure on opponents and work more on my three-point shooting. I can bring to the team a good offensive game and defense in transition. Also, being able to guard 1-4 on the floor, the ability to shoot three’s, and being vocal.”
What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:
“Lengthy forward prospect with an excellent basketball frame. With frame and length, he has nice upside as a defensive stopper. Has international experience playing for Canada. Alabama was able to beat out Arkansas, USC, NC State, and Dayton for him.” – Jamie Shaw
“Ambrose brings versatility to the floor but is still a developing prospect. He excels when he gets downhill and attacks the rim. He has great size and athleticism, along with power to his game. Ambrose’s ability to get to the paint in one dribble but also step out on offense is highly intriguing. Love that he can defend so many positions.” – Patrick O’Brien
