What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

“Jalen was one of the more impressive players in the entire camp. His skill set and athleticism are off the charts for his age/grade. The talented young guard scored from all levels on the court. He was beating his man off the dribble, hitting midrange jumpers and hitting 3-pointers with consistency. Rarely, do you find a young player that combines such an outstanding skill set that is matched with superior athleticism. To put it mildly, the sky’s the limit for Jalen Cone!” – 2014 NC Jr Phenom Camp

“Go ahead and put Jalen Cone’s name in your SIM CARD! At 5’10, Cone is super athletic and advanced in his overall skill set. He has the complete package. In addition, he has the motor and basketball skills to take him to the next level. He doesn’t take plays off and has his hand in every single play. He the type of player that makes things happen on both ends of the court. Cone has unlimited potential and can be as good as he wishes to be.” – 2015

“Cone ran with both squads throughout the tournament. With Coach Harold Cone’s 15U team the younger Cone showed off a complete scoring arsenal. Cone blew by any defenders guarding him and finished at the cup with ease. When opposing coaches stacked the paint, Cone got hot from mid-range and the kid has dedicated a lot of time to his pull up game as its already polished. At times defenses attempted to triple team Cone in an effort to slow him down.

While playing with the Team Loaded 17u, Cone scored effectively but shifted into a distributor role, running the break effectively and put guys in position to get easy buckets on the offensive end. Cone squared off against the majority of the top guards present and outplayed a lot of them. It’s rare to see such a young player with a complete game, as Cone is explosive on both ends of the floor.” – 2017 at David Rose MDC

“He’s a strong, athletic lead guard with quickness, sharp instincts, and the ability to overwhelm a variety of opponents. Cone is an effective three-level scorer that can generate a clean shot out of little to nothing, both for himself or others. He attacks the basket with regularity and is capable of playing above the rim whenever he desires. Cone defends the point of attack well and forced turnovers at a strong rate throughout the day. He’s slightly undersized, but possesses all the necessary tools to dominate a game and dictate the action on both ends of the floor.” – NC Top 80 in 2019
