Another season is in the books and there is no better way for teams to solidify their season than with a championship and that is exactly what Combine Academy did once again this year, winning the Phenom Hoop State Championship this past weekend.

Overall, it has been another terrific year for the Goats. They end the season ranked in the Top-25 nationally, they secured a state title, and they racked up an impressive resume along the way.  Many may have doubted Combine at times with a few key losses but in the end, the Goats came out on top and showcased why they are one of the premier programs in the country.

Looking back throughout the season, the Goats ended the season the way they began.  And even though they had some ups and downs at times, they were quite impressive all throughout the season.  Starting off, they were able to win their first six games to start out the season, which included wins at the Carmel Christian Tip-Off and a huge win against JL Chambers at the CHC22.

They faced their first adversity against Moravian Prep, a nationally ranked program as well at the Tyler Lewis Hoopfest but bounced right back in impressive style with wins against Hamilton Heights, nationally ranked Hillcrest Prep, and coming up just short against Top-10 AZ Compass Prep.

Even though they finished with five losses on the season, all of them came against top-tier programs in the country and were quite competitive.  But they also racked up incredible wins against top-tier programs as well, eventually racking up 25 wins on the year.

Combine, coming in as the No. 3 seed, looked to have something to prove but also defend their Hoop State title.   They were able to start off the tournament with a strong win vs. Winston Salem Christian and followed that up with a win against Moravian Prep. That is where they met the No. 1 seed Liberty Heights, a program they are quite familiar with.  It was an all-out battle between two of the best programs in the country, but it was the play of Jayden Epps and the Goats that ultimately helped secure Combines second straight Hoop State Championship.

Again, congrats to the Goats of Combine for another fantastic season.
