The months of June and July are big opportunities for not only players but for college programs to make their presence felt with prospects around the country.  One program that we certainly will have our eyes on a little more is the College of Charleston, as they have made their presence very well known, especially with how they have been recruiting the state of North Carolina.

Looking over the last year or so, the Cougars have made some noise, especially snagging some of the premier talents around in the state of North Carolina.  You can first start with getting, in my opinion, one of the most underrated gets last year in 2022 Ben Burnham, as the 6'7 forward had a strong freshman season in which he averaged 7.7ppg and 4.3rpg while playing 32 games and starting 26 of them.  Burnham was an absolute beast at Carmel Christian, posting impressive double-doubles each night and there wasn't a player that was stopping him.

Then you look at the 2022 class, where they were able to get a strong prospect in 2022 Jordan Crawford from North Meck.  The senior guard averaged 19.8 points per game last year, scoring in double figures in 27 of his 29 games, and scored 20+ points on 15 occasions.  On top of that, he can be a lethal weapon from outside, as he hit 69 3-pointers on the season.

And now, the College of Charleston is already making waves in the class of 2023, as they got one of their biggest targets in 2023 6'8 Mayar Wol.  Wol, who has been one of the biggest stock risers in the class of 2023 for North Carolina, can be a mismatch nightmare on the court.  With his length, his versatility, his ability to be a threat from three, his ability to create and score over defenders, and impact the game on the boards and blocking shots, he is a huge get for the Cougars and is regarded as a Top-150 player in the country.

The momentum may only continue, as the College of Charleston has its eyes and has already offered a few other prospects in North Carolina, so they may not be done yet.  But, one thing is for sure… the Cougars are looking to be a program to be reckoned with around the region and are putting everyone on notice now!
