Coach Rick’s “Getting to Know”
6’2 2021 Troy Fulton (Lincoln Charter)
When we came out with our All State “Top Gun” Shooters team, we omitted 6’2 2021 Troy Fulton of Lincoln Charter, which was a huge mistake! Let’s check out his stat line. He averaged 14.9 PPG as a junior and hit 139 3-pointers for the season. To make it more impressive, Fulton shot an unheard 59% from the 3-point line and 64% from the floor to help lead Lincoln Charter to an impressive 27-3 record.
Back in January at the Hartsville Invitational, Lincoln Charter scored a impactful 68-39 win over Trinity Byrnes (23-7) of South Carolina, we wrote the following. “There were many strong contributors for Lincoln Charter but Fulton was clearly the player that put this contest out of reach. His ability to consistently hit three-pointers shined from start to finish, as he was easily the most lethal spot-up threat on the floor. Fulton has excellent mechanics and a quick release, forcing the opposition to pay him constant attention—even without the ball.”
In another post, we stated, “Fulton was the definition of a shooter, showing his range over and over. Fulton was able to get to his spots on the floor, usually behind the arc and displayed great touch and rhythm on his shot, hitting six 3-pointers in the win.”
In speaking with head coach Bradley Gabriel, he stated the following. “Fulton impacts the without having the ball in his hands all the time. He’s one of the best shooters I’ve coached. He has a quick release and when open is automatic. Fulton puts so much pressure on defense to sprint back and find him. In addition, Fulton has a great work ethic and is in the gym and weight room all the time. He has really figured out what it takes to be a great player and how that translates to college. Fulton makes our team hard to defend because this presence on the court opens lanes and shots for others.” Fulton currently sports an offer from Mars Hill and has interest from Milligan University and Piedmont College, and to top it all off, he sports an amazing 4.25 GPA.
