Let's talk about an under-the-radar player that impressed me and had a good showing this weekend. Ja’tez Ward from the Juice All-Stars 15u. Ja'tez, at 5 ‘7, has very tight handles and an outstanding basketball IQ. He made everyone on the floor with him better every play.
Ja'tez attends Word of God Christian Academy in Durham North Carolina and has ambitions to attend the University of Miami to play basketball; a school that is commonly known for its football program. This young man is dedicated to changing that. Ja’tez is a gifted young athlete with an uncanny floor presence; playing up, he was able to contribute on just about every play of the game.
He is also a solid defender, a skilled passer, and has a consistent mid-range jump-shot. This is a young man that has a competitive and positive attitude no matter what, even in defeat he still stand out. He did just that, earning himself game MVP honors.
Ja'tez knows how to determine his own fate a definite prime performer this weekend, shining under the radar.
