2025 Jalen Reece from Oakridge high school down in Florida is a name that should only continue to catch on, as the young man is building off a strong summer and attracting the eyes of college coaches.  The point guard is coming off a freshman season for the Pioneers and averaged 12.0ppg, 3.0rpg, 6.7apg, and 2.7spg, and took his game even high this summer with the Florida Rebels.

Reece earned his first offer back in January, as SMU was the first to offer.

'When I got my first offer in January, it was very exciting because I worked so hard and when I got it, I just knew that it was only up from there,' Reece told Phenom Hoops.  'I haven't been able to dive into all of the schools yet, but I have for some of them.'

SMU was the first to offer but schools like UCF, New Mexico State, Jacksonville, and Cincinnati have all joined in with offers, with the Bearcats being the latest offer.  It is a big offer as well for the guard, as he has some ties around the area.

'It was big for me to get Cincinnati because my family is from there, so really it is like my second home and I know they are building a great program,' he said. 'It is cool knowing that I have the option to go home and play the sport that I love at a high level.'

Reece also mentioned that he has been receiving early interest from schools like USF, Kansas State, Texas, and VCU.  He also mentioned that he is just getting to know all the coaches and building a bond with them early on in his recruitment.

“I would describe my game as a true point guard who can score whenever it is needed.”
