In South Carolina's Class of 2021, there are seven prospects who have already found themselves within the national rankings: John Butler, Ike Cornish, Bryce McGowens, Keon Edwards, Robert McCray, Josh Beadle, and Cesare Edwards. Of that grouping, Edwards is currently ranked the lowest (#145). It's somewhat puzzling, since he's arguably the most productive of anyone listed. However, there is a likely scenario where Edwards will only continue climbing the rankings and furthering his status as an elite prospect.

He already holds a slew of high-major offers and interest, but his trajectory over the last few years should be enough evidence to support his continued boost in the national spotlight. Edwards is somewhat of a modern post player, given his hyper-athleticism, rim-protection instincts, and inside-out ability on offense. He runs the floor with fluidity, fills the lane correctly, and can knock down trail three-pointers very well. Additionally, he's grown and added strength at a pretty steady rate since his eighth-grade season. At this point, there's really nothing preventing Edwards from taking the next step within his progression and becoming a top-50 talent rather than just cracking the top-150. Whatever program gets the services of Edwards could secure a diamond in the rough.
