There are several teams in the state of North Carolina that remain undefeated, so it will be interesting to see how the rest of the season shakes out. But one team out in Concord, North Carolina, may be one that many won't want to see and they are making some noise.

If you haven't heard of Central Cabarrus and what head coach Jim Baker is doing with the Vikings this season, you should take notice. Phenom Hoops went out recently to watch them in action, taking down Cox Mill, a very strong team, for the second time in two days and in impressive fashion.

After that game, Patrick O’Brien had this to say about the team… 'That may have been the most impressive performance I've seen this year, especially from a team that you don't know much about… yet!'

What do you mean by that you ask' Yes, you have the likes of the top teams in the state of North Carolina like North Meck, Millbrook, Farmville Central, and others. However, many fans have seen those kids play a lot this summer and kind of know what to expect.

Central Cabarrus though is one that many don't know about. When I watched the Vikings in action, I couldn't believe the way they got after it on both ends. They love to push the pace, get out in transition, and their young guards understand how to handle pressure well; also score and create. Then you add seniors Tre Bost and Te'Veon Glover, this is a very balanced team. In fact, it is all in the stats as well.

They have four players that average double-figures, along with four other young players that produce and bring energy while on the court. This is a team that is averaging nearly 75 points per game, sharing and moving the ball incredibly well, and playing unselfish basketball. But they also work extremely hard on the defensive end, as they swarm around the court, look to trap and create turnovers, and simply get you to play their game. It is why they are only giving up nearly 48 points per game this season.

Sitting at 8-0 on the season, seven of those wins have come by double-digits, and four of those have come by 20+ points as well. This is a team that is fun to watch but is a team that isn't getting the spotlight. You could look at them as a sleeper but they shouldn't sneak up on anyone else, as they have made themselves apparent this season to Phenom Hoops and to North Carolina.
