The day only continued, as The Burlington School was back in action after Day 1 and they were going up against Cannon, a team that we are getting a chance to see what they had to offer this season.  Both teams were getting an early feel for each other, with both showing a balanced attack and getting multiple players involved early.  Cannon was able to earn the early edge after the first quarter 13-12, but this was a game that looked to be a battle throughout much of the game.

It wasn’t until late in the second quarter when The Burlington School was able to create a small bit of space against Cannon, as Cam Flippin, Jordan Durham, and others started to really hit some big shots.  Their balanced play helped TBS to a 30-22 halftime lead.  Isaiah Henry was strong in the first half with 12 points to lead his team.

The second half got underway, and Cannon came out with something to show, as they quickly cut into the lead and eventually took the lead around the three and half minute mark.  Austin Swartz started to turn it up for Cannon, and overall they were able to pick up more on the defensive end.  Towards the end of the third quarter, both teams were trading baskets with TBS holding the narrow 44-42 lead at the end of three.

In the fourth quarter, it was The Burlington School that amped it up on both ends of the floor, as they were able to take a two-point lead and expand it to nine with two minutes to go. But yet again, just like the other games, the game isn’t over until the buzzer goes off. Cannon turned it up and hit a big three late to cut it to three. And then, with a turnover by TBS, Cannon had one chance to tie it up and Swartz came through once again with a big three to tie it up at 61 and send this game into overtime.

In overtime, it was again The Burlington School that came out strong but Cannon answered the bell once again at the end, with Isaiah Henry hitting a game-tying three to send this one into a second overtime. In the second overtime, The Burlington School’s Zion Walker stepped up big for his team, getting into the paint and getting to the line. TBS was able to build a five-point lead and hold on to secure what was an absolute battle between these two.
