We continued the day here at the Carmel Tip-Off, as two powerhouse programs went to battle between Concord Academy and Greensboro Day.' It was Concord Academy that flexed their muscles first, showing their new backcourt duo in Isaiah Tate and JJ Moore as both were knocking down shots early on from behind the arc.' That trend continued, as Concord Academy was able to build upon its lead after the first quarter and eventually pushed its lead to nearly 20 points.' Jaydon Young was the go-to player for Greensboro Day, but they found themselves down 33-16 at the half.

Credit Greensboro Day though in the second half, as they amped up their defense and started to chip away at the lead.  Players like Will Otto, Jordan Moody, and Joseph Bachman started to step up and eventually, what was a big lead was down to just three late in the fourth quarter.

With Concord Academy leading 53-50 with just under 40 seconds to go, Jaydon Young was able to hit one of two free throws and Concord Academy was able to capitalize on the other end. GDS answered right back, with the game being 55-53 with 16.5 seconds to go. After a missed free throw by CFA, it was Jaydon Young who drove the length of the court and scored at the buzzer to send this thriller into overtime.

In overtime, Concord Academy came out strong from outside once again as their guards were able to make plays and ultimately seal the game from the free throw line.
