Phenom Hoops kicked off the season in a big way with the Carmel Christian Tip-Off Classic, bringing in some of the premier talent and teams from around the region under one building in Charlotte.

In the final game of the night, it was Carmel Christian vs. Westminster Catawba in what looked to be an intense showdown.  Both teams came out strong and looking to make an early statement.  MJ Collins came out strong with his perimeter shooting, knocking down multiple threes to lead his team.  Cade Tyson came out strong as well to answer back, getting to the rack and being a force as well. These two went back and forth, as these teams were tied at 19 after the first.  In the second quarter though, others stepped up with big shots for Carmel from outside to take a nine-point lead into halftime.

Going into the third quarter, both teams came out strong with Collins continuing to score effectively and Derek Bradley knocking down key threes but Carmel's balance offensively really proved to be tough to slow down, as they outscored the third quarter 22-14 to increase their lead to 17.

They never looked back from there, as Carmel made a statement in front of their crowd, eventually helping themselves to a 74-62 victory and coming away with two strong wins at home at the Carmel Tip-Off.
