Carmel Christian Tip-Off Christian Event Link

The week is finally here high school basketball fans… The season is here for Phenom Hoop Report and we are kicking off the high school year in a big way in Charlotte this weekend with the Carmel Christian Tip-Off Classic.

With a loaded schedule and a full breakdown, which can be found here (Click Here), we start our coverage by break down a few teams at the event.

2020 G Cam Hayes (NC State commit)

Hayes announced his decision to stay in-state and now all Wolfpack fans will get a glimpse of the future.  Hayes has great size for a point guard and knows how to initiate the offense.  He continues to develop his overall game and he can be deadly with his mid-range jumper.  Hayes plays with great pace to his game.

2020 G Carson McCorkle (Virginia commit)

Another ACC commit, McCorkle does a lot for this Bengals team.  He can play multiple positions, can defend solid, as well as be a knockdown shooter from mid-range and outside.  McCorkle has also shown that he can play out in transition as well, finishing strong as he continues to get stronger physically.  He plays with a high IQ and really gets this GDS team going.

2023 Jaydon Young

He may be their best prospect when all is said and done, as he continues to develop and work on just exactly what he can do on the floor.  Young has all the tools and checks off a lot of boxes for college coaches.  He will have a college-ready body, can play multiple positions and brings versatility to the floor.  Young already has the confidence and love his ability to push the tempo both with or without the ball. Strong and physically mature prospect in the Class of 2023.

2021 Bryce Harris

Harris brings a style that Greensboro Day has been used to when they had JP Moorman.  A versatile four man that can push and handle if called upon but Harris seems to bring strength and works incredibly well around the rim/ in transition.  He doesn't have the vision and outside game that Moorman had, but he is continuing to work on that.  But style wise, he will be used much in the same way it seems.

2021 Brock Williams

It will be interesting to see how GDS will use Williams, especially knowing just what he is capable of doing scoring wise.  Leading the state in scoring last year, he is fantastic with the ball in his hands and in attack mode.  Williams has a confident stroke as well as the ability to break down defenders with the dribble.

Also keep a look out for 2020 Cason Pierce, 2021 Cam Leake, 2020 Christian Bailey, and others this year.
