Potential National Powers kick off the season

The season is finally here in North Carolina and two teams that should have the attention of not only the state but on a national scale are Combine Academy and Carmel Christian. Combine, under new head coach Mike Wright and his staff, bring in a loaded team for their first big event of the season.  It will give fans from all over a chance to watch nationally ranked players such as 2024 Trentyn Flower, 2024 Rakease Passmore, 2023 Collin Tanner, 2023 Silas Demary Jr., and several others.  It will also be one of the first chances for many to see how all the talent comes together on the court.

It will also give everyone a chance to see what Carmel Christian is bringing to the table. A program that is coming off a state title, Coach Badgett looks to reload once again with a roster that includes 2023 Bryce Cash, 2024 Jaeden Mustaf, 2023 Kaleb Siler, 2024 Michael Marcus, and 2023 Boston Smith, all of which are being recruited at the Division I level.

Both teams have a loaded roster and both are looking to make noise on a national level.  This will be the first big event for both to test and see what they bring to the court this year.

New-Looking Burlington School

The Burlington School has been recognized as one of the premier programs in North Carolina over the years, racking up impressive seasons and titles over the years. But there have been some recent changes, with a new coaching staff, and new names now on the team. So what will this year's team look like' Here is your chance to see, and it seems like TBS will find out what they got as well when they go up against Combine Academy on Day 1. Coach Marshall will have some familiar names that have entered the program, as they look to get after it with their guard play from 2024 Zion Walker, 2025 Cam Flippin, and 2024 Jordan Durham, while others will be looking to elevate their game on a national stage.

Think we will quickly learn what The Burlington School will be bringing to the court in what should be an electric Day 1 showdown.

First glimpse of Quality Education

One team that certainly will be fun to watch and has a chance to really make some noise this year will be QEA. A new-looking roster looks to shine under Coach Gould, but there is plenty of talent that has a chance to really make a statement. 2024 Bobby Cannon, 2024 Jermaurhiyun Anderson, 2023 Keyon Webb, 2023 Tyson Barrett, and 2024 Armaan Benitez should all be on college coaches' radars and they look to kick off Friday night with a bang against Northside Christian.

Twin towers on display at Northwood Temple

Northwood Temple will be a team you will see on multiple occasions with Phenom Hoops this season but this will be our first true viewing of the two 7-footers that have entered the state. 2024 7'1 Harold Lee and 2024 7'0 Daniel Mbaeteka have been able to show flashes at camps this summer, with the last one coming at the North Carolina Top 80. But this is the high school season, when everything goes out the window and it is time to produce on the biggest of stages. They have a chance to come to NC and really make an impression early on with their matchup against Carmel Christian.
