With the season approaching fast here in North Carolina, there are plenty of topics to discuss early on. One topic that we have had in the past and will continue to have is the talent at Chambers High School. But this year, this team has tremendous overall talent and strong key pieces but the question remains if the impressive Top-100 duo of 2026 6’6 Tarris Bouie and 2026 6’6 Markus Kerr can lead the Cougars to a title.
Last year, these two were part of a strong roster with Bouie averaging just under 15 points per game and Kerr sitting at 13.4 points, with both averaging around five rebounds per game.
Getting an early look at the Hoop State Fall League, Chambers once again seems to be a very balanced team that has terrific guard play and versatility. But this is also a team that is going to go as far as the duo of Bouie and Kerr go. The two juniors are ranked as Top-100 prospects and have unlimited potential in each of their games and they look to be the clear alphas for this team. Both prospects sit around 6’6 and both are true leaders for this team, as they bring a strong offensive game to the court. When these two are flying high and producing, Chambers looks to be tough to beat.
And coming off a season in which they finished 22-9 and with a year under their belt (as well as another summer to develop), Bouie and Kerr will be the clear go-to guys if Chambers wants to reach its ultimate goal.
Both are bigger and stronger, and they continue to embrace a bigger role in leading this team. They can be matchup problems with how well they operate and fill it up. Bouie is flying high and being more of that assertive prospect, while Kerr showcases as a smooth operator in picking his spots. Bouie has looked strong and aggressive throughout the Fall League and can fill it up in a big way much like he did last year, and does so quickly with his shot-making from outside and attacking the rim. Kerr operates more with a smooth feel, picking his spots, making plays off the dribble, using his size to make an impact in a variety of ways, and being a strong offensive option from a variety of levels.
And with these two leading the charge, this will always be a topic to discuss for Chambers. However, the duo of Bouie and Kerr hope to answer that question sooner rather than later, as they build upon last season’s success and assert themselves in more this season in hopes of a title.
