2025 Reece Starnes (Butler):
Butler lost some firepower from last year but this also provides an opportunity for Starnes, a 6’6 forward that really had some strong moments last year. Starnes will always be remembered for his 22-rebound showing with Phenom Hoops last year, but he could be having big performances with his frame, his ability to finish, and his willingness to battle on the boards. He brings a lot of value and has a chance to really carve a name out for himself.
2026 Zamarius Gladden (Hunter Huss):
Gladden is an intriguing guard and really brings a lot of value to this team. The quick, speedy guard is excellent with the energy and motor he brings, his ability to attack off the dribble and get downhill, and his ability to impact the game on both sides of the court. He is aggressive in his ability to attack the defense and get to the line but also shows he can be effective in a variety of other ways.
2025 Brady Dunn (Marvin Ridge):
We have talked about Dunn a lot this summer and deservingly so, as he truly brings a ton of value in leading his team. Dunn is a leader on and off the court, leading by example but also making quality decisions, finding his spots and opening the floor offensively, and his ability to facilitate to others as well. He is truly a coach on the court that plays hard but with a tremendous pace, reading the defense, and being effective on and off the ball.
2025 AJ Jamison (Myers Park):
Jamison will be valuable for Myers Park, as they will be looking to replace several big-time players from last year’s team. Jamison, a 6’4 prospect, is able to be that high-motor guy who plays hard on both sides, uses his size/length well to be effective, and can be one who makes plays offensively but is also active on the defensive end. Jamison will be very valuable to his team’s success this upcoming season.
2026 Justyn Whitfield (VCCS):
VCCS is coming off a tremendous season last year and though they bring back a lot of intriguing talent, Whitfield is one that I believe will be extremely valuable if they are looking to make another run. Whitfield has a strong feel for the game and can hurt you off the dribble as well as be an effective shooter. But now, more will be on his shoulders as he looks to be one of the go-to guards to lead his team.
