Over the last year, we have had a tremendous opportunity to view young prospects who look to be the future of basketball around the area. Over the summer, one prospect that has continued to garner our attention has been 2029 6’8 Grant Duggins as he has a chance to be a tremendous talent in the coming years. And now, is the time to learn about him.
Still in middle school, Duggins shows a ton of potential at an early age. He has an exceptional feel around the basket at his age and can be a dominant figure against players his age but also is getting a chance to learn to play against older opponents to help develop his game. Duggins has a natural feel and touch, along with a ton of potential when it comes to his skill set. He excels around the basket, shows a strong IQ in decision-making, makes good reads and passes, and is capable of opening up the offense with his ability to step out. Again, this is just the start for this young man but it is clear early on that he has the potential to be a strong talent in his class.
What Was Said:
“Though young and still developing, it’s easy to see the appeal with a prospect like Duggins. Already a fluid 6-foot-6 forward, he possesses touch, feel, and a blossoming skillset. Duggins finishes well around the basket, spaces the floor effectively from the perimeter, and displays solid passing instincts for his size. He rebounds, blocks shots, and highlights adaptability as an offensive piece. With another season before high school, he should be nothing short of utterly dominant during his eighth-grade campaign.”
“Despite being the only middle-schooler listed, Duggins has all the tools to be a notable prospect. Already 6-foot-6 with feel and fluidity, he showcased an impressive level of skill for his size and age. Duggins displayed touch around the basket, floor-spacing ability, and an understanding of how to effectively attack off the bounce. He’s still just growing into his body, but has a solid frame with nice length. Duggins rebounds well and is capable of pushing the break in transition. He’s full of potential but quickly becoming a matchup problem for opponents, so it’ll be interesting to follow his development over the coming years.”
“Duggins has a lot of tools that you have to like, especially at his age. He has a nice touch and an understanding of how to operate around the basket with touch but is comfortable as well in stepping out as well. I’m eager to see how he continues to develop, along with his size as he could be one to really watch for in the coming years.”
