The last two weeks, Phenom Hoops has had a great opportunity to watch Bricksquad Monopoly led by Coach James Black, as he continues to bring talent to court in a variety of levels. This is a very talented team that offers intriguing talent, and they were certainly a must-see down in Raleigh at the Phenom Hoops LIVE. Let’s dive into some of the players we saw.
When you start talking about this group, you probably would have to look at the guard duo that we watched on the floor in 2025 Trevor Best and 2025 Jordan Vick. Best continues to put on a show and display that he can be a true offensive scoring threat and he will look to back that up with confidence. He has tremendous range, finds his shot well, has a quick release, and can create to score just as easily. Vick was able to maneuver well on the court with the ball in his hands, being a playmaker for himself and others but also showed that he can be a weapon from behind the arc as well.
But there were plenty of other players that have grabbed my attention over the last few weeks and should be garnering attention their way. 2025 6’3 Brandon Solomon Jr. has been playing really well, as he has a nice blend of size, athleticism, and shot-making. He finishes well at the rim and gets downhill but is just as comfortable in showing his shot-making from multiple levels. Add his motor and impact in other areas, Solomon was very productive on the floor.
2025 6’6 Tristan Thompson is another player who just does what is needed for his team. He brings a lot of value in his ability to attack the boards, alter and make things difficult defensively, his ability to run the floor and finish around the basket; he doesn’t need to be the focal piece to be productive. 2025 6’9 Nathan Malosa is another player who stretches the floor with his size, knocking down shots from outside but also bringing value in the paint. And 2025 6’3 Elijah Newsome continues to be a strong creator who can attack off the dribble, score off the dribble, and really be an assertive player on the court.
