What's up to all my hoops heads, it's your guy Brandon Blakney and I'm live from Rock Hill, SC, for some travel ball action! The Phenom Challenge kicked off this weekend and the talent hasn't disappointed early! My first group of standouts is a diverse group of five that college coaches at multiple levels may want to get to know!

6'2 '22 Quan Peterson (Next level SC) A relentless but silky smooth slasher, Peterson isn't a burner with the ball, but he can slip past defenders with his combination of ball skills and elusiveness. I was impressed with the body control and footwork. Peterson has a reliable handle he's trustworthy with the rock, he can go either way and finish with both hands. Peterson is a guy that utilizes every inch of the court to get where he's going. Peterson has a good shooting day, the mid-range pull up is fluid and he connected on a pair of three balls.

6'5 John Swinger of (Team Renegades) Swinger was a true force on both ends and, I can honestly say his shot-blocking ability and paint presence changed the dynamic of Team Renegades first W on the day. Aside from hosting a block party, Swinger converted some big finishes around the cup, he's got a slender frame but that didn't stop him from taking on contact. Swinger showed great timing he's like a pogo stick getting off the floor, along with shot-blocking It also provides opportunities for Swinger to be a productive glass cleaner.

6'2 2022 Marcus Farley Jr ( Team Together) Farley Jr is a natural PG, he showed good instincts and, an overall clear understanding of the game in some crucial moments. Farley Jr plays the game with flair, he delivered a few eye-popping dimes that even caught some teammates off guard at times, Farley Jr is effective in space with the rock making decisions. On the drive, Farley is a capable finisher and he draws in a lot of attention to free up cutters and bigs for clean drop-offs. At the cup, he won't shy from contact, although Farley Jr relies more on finesse than sheer explosion. Farley Jr also showed a nice range from deep.

6'0 2022 Ezekiel Cannedy ( Team Together) – Cannedy was the other half of Team Togethers prolific backcourt, along with Farley Jr Cannedy got it going early Saturday. Cannedy was more effective off-ball, he's constantly moving, running around screens and dodging defenders for clean looks. Cannedy is an absolute shot maker, as soon as the ball touches his fingers Cannedy is prepared to let the leather fly. Cannedy showed a reliable mid-range game, and got hot from 3 in the second half, he can heat up in a hurry.

6'4 2022 Nakeem Isaac (Carolina Pressure) is a strong-bodied forward, that has posses the physical tools to play inside & the ball skills/Shot making ability to produce from the wing also. Isaac is a potential mismatch problem he's strong but also more agile than he looks. Isaac showed a nice touch around the cup he's got a gram built for contact, and he also stretched the defense with the three-ball. Isaac will compete on both ends and can guard multiple spots if needed.
