Our annual South Carolina Top 80 camp featured the cream of the crop in the Palmetto State sharpening their crafts with skills and drills, and competing in live play in front of dozens of college coaches from around the region.

Lexington, South Carolina- We saw nationally ranked talent dual it out, some names that are breaking onto the scene as we speak, and eager youngsters looking to make a statement. I’ve put together a group of players that really stood out and helped their stocks tremendously heading into the season. Overall SC has been slept on as a whole, it’s loaded with talent that can impact colleges at every level!

 

No. 20, 5’11 2021 Jalen Breazeale (Greenville Tech)- Breazeale is really coming into his own offensively and it’s a treat to watch. Breazeale held his own as a young freshman last year in this event, but this go around he looked confident and noticeably more aggressive. In team tens second game, Breazeale got hot from deep and connected on 20 Jalen Breazealethree jumpers from well beyond the three point line.

Around the basket Breazeale was creative, he used the backboard and the rim as protection from willing shot blockers. Breazeale showed playmaking skills, he has improved the court vision and he worked to control the game tempo.

 

 

No. 60, 6’2 2021 Umar Lawson (Laurence Manning)- Lawson really made a statement in a thrilling dual, with the states top ranked point guard Myles Tate. Lawson got to the cup efficiently and finished in style, the athletic ability was on full display in front of dozens of college coaches, Lawson almost took the rim home with him.60 Umar Lawson

Lawson has a devastating first step you won’t find many guards as fast as him with the rock, he’s also put some work in on the jumpshot. Lawson looked smooth on the pull up and he took advantage of a few catch and shoot opportunities.

 

 

 

No. 115, 2020 6’8 Javon Benson (Ridgeview) – Without a doubt one of the top performers in the entire camp, Benson consistently impacted the game on both ends of the floor. Benson looked good with his back to the basket, he’s got the over the shoulder game in his bag, Benson can also step out and make the mid range jumper.115 Javon Benson

Benson uses his body well to establish position on the block and he’s tenacious on the boards. Defensively Benson blocked and bothered shots all weekend, his presence made slashers hesitate at the cup. Benson ran the floor well, he’s versatile and athletic enough to guard multiple spots.

 

 

 

101, 2020 6’6 Justin Amadi (Hillcrest)- Amadi is an undersized big with some ball skills, he can step out and consistently hit the three point shot. Amadi connected on three field goals beyond the arc in one game, he also proved to be a physical presence down low.101 Justin Amadi

Amadi Plays a lot bigger than 6’6 in the paint, he ran the floor well and showed explosiveness at the cup. Amadi utilizes his athleticism to compete for boards, Amadi can jump with the trees. Amadi is a player who will give everything defensively.

 

 

 

No. 95, 2021 6’5 Quenton Flood (Sumter)- Flood played extremely hard in every contest, he’s another guy with a high motor on both ends. Flood comes through the lane full force and embraces contact at the rim, Flood isn’t built like a typical sophomore, he’s a stock 6’5. Flood has excellent body control in the air he evades defenders for easy scores.95 Quenton Flood

Flood has the type of energy that is contagious, on missed attempts, Flood followed the shot and earned his side crucial second chance points. Flood doesn’t need to be on ball to impact the game, he’s a constant worker and Flood will challenge his matchup. Flood also showed playmaking abilities he’s willing to create opportunities for others in transition.
