Abolins has really elevated his game coming into his senior season but we are still talking about a player that has played in over 50 games and has earned minutes at Sanderson as a sophomore and junior.  But now, Abolins is showing that he has really elevated his play and is helping lead the charge at Sanderson.  When speaking with Sanderson head coach Brian Shaffer, he knows that his potential has always been there but it just took some time for it to be seen.

'I believe the game has been there but it took time for us as a program to buy into our style of play to match his game.  He is the smartest player on the floor every time he steps out there.  He has great confidence and a short memory, which is a great quality in a leader.'

He also mentioned that Abolins has really been working better on understanding what to do on an overplay, whether it is to catch and rip, step across, or go back door; just a better overall feel on the court.

Game Description:

'Pure shooter with a quick release.' He can get his feet underneath him quickly which allows us to get the ball to him when he is in motion as well.' Also, he is really learning to understand the over play as he went 7-for-10 inside the arc in his game vs. Enloe in addition to 6-for-10 from three.' ' Coach Shaffer
