2019-20 Season:

Carver was off the charts for Charlotte Country Day School, as he led the charge averaging 18.9 points per game, 6.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and shot 46 percent from the field. He recorded four double-doubles, including an impressive outing vs. Bull City Prep, scoring 32 points and recording 12 rebounds. Right now, he is currently ranked as the 79th player by Phenom Hoops and was also a Phenom Hoops Top 80 invitee.

His Game:

Carver is an intriguing guard prospect that we have been able to see a few times.  Phenom Hoops got a chance to see him this past summer at the Summer Havoc in July, as he was able to show his craftiness with the ball in his hands, creating easy scoring opportunities.  Carver is an efficient three-level scorer with a great IQ.

When speaking with him, he would describe his game like this:

“Scoring in all ways is my most prominent strength in my eyes, getting to the basket and three-pointers and good off the bounce with my mid-range pull-ups.  I also am able to find my teammates when defenses collapse on me.  I think a part of my game that is slept on is getting rebounds.  I attack the offensive glass a lot of putbacks and easy buckets, as well as grabbing the defensive rebound and going coast-to-coast.  Also, I would say I’m a solid off-ball defender with help-side steals and I like to take charges to change momentum.”

Carver mentioned that he has spoken to a few schools such as Charlotte, Clemson, Brown, but has been speaking the most with UNCG and Mars Hill as well.

Getting it done in the classroom:

With his production on the court, Carver puts in the same hard work in the classroom, posting a 3.7 GPA.  He wants to make sure that he stays focused on the task in hand and he knows the importance of getting the job done in school.

“I just know school is important and my parents definitely don’t allow me to mess around in the classroom, they take that more serious than basketball.”
