2026 AJ Washington (Davidson Day):
Washington came up big for his team on Day 1, scoring 26 big points in what was an overtime thriller for Davidson Day vs. TBS. Washington is a big-bodied guard who shows his comfort level from behind the arc. He does a great job in finding the open spots on the court, and he doesn’t lack confidence in rising up and knocking them down from behind the arc. But with his frame, he is able to also make plays off the bounce, attack the basket, and find ways to get to the line as well. He was big to help his team in a tight game on Day 1.
2026 Drew Johnson/ 2025 Cam Flippen (TBS):
Though Gibson had a great weekend overall, it was the guards of Drew Johnson on Day 1 and Cam Flippen on Day 2 that helped TBS compete and bring two tremendous games to fans around North Carolina. Johnson came up big with his perimeter shooting on Day 1, hitting seven 3-pointers on his way to 26 points. Flippen was the guy that stepped up on Day 2 when TBS needed, being strong off the bounce, getting to his spots with his mid-range game, and his ability to knock down shots from the perimeter. He also does a great job on the defensive end.
2025 Caleb Thomas (Combine Academy):
Thomas was another new name here in North Carolina that really impressed me on both days at the Carmel Tip-Off. Thomas, a 5’10 guard from Georgia, helped bring a balanced and impressive offensive game for Combine on both days. Thomas is a scrappy, gritty guard that plays hard, competes, and shows that he can hurt you from the perimeter. Through both games, he finished with 10 made threes that opened up the offense, but he is also quick enough to get by defenders and make unselfish reads to his teammates.
2025 Brycen Redmon (Westminster Catawba):
Redmon made it very apparent that he looked to be the go-to offensive threat for his team, as he looked to be assertive in creating, finding open spots in the defense, and looking to score whenever he touched the ball. Redmon was really strong in making plays inside and out, attacking downhill, finding ways to get to the line, getting to his spots for his pull-up game, and also showing his range with his three-point shooting.
2025 Miki Gacic (Asheville School):
Talk about a player that made a statement at the event, as Gacic proved to be a late prospect schools should be looking at more. Gacic is a high IQ guard who has a college frame, plays with a great feel, makes strong reads, and has clearly elevated his game offensively overall. Gacic uses his physical frame to score well downhill and embrace contact but is comfortable in knocking down shots from outside. But again, he gets others involved, doesn’t force much on the court, and makes good decisions throughout, as he is a prospect schools should be looking at more.
2026 Logan Johnson (Ambassador Christian):
It had been a while since seeing Johnson in action and we had been seeing more and more of his game popping up; so we were eager to see the latest in his development. Johnson has clearly gotten bigger and stronger but he has also gained a lot of confidence with his game. He was able to really flourish in his ability to knock down shots with range. He gets to his spots well, knocks down shots with confidence, and has also added more to his game. When not knocking down shots from outside, he was able to make plays and attack at times, get to the free throw line, and play within the offense to get others involved. After watching him, we can see why more schools have been coming his way.
