What Was Said:
“Yessoufou sent a wake-up call to many and has been doing so all summer long, as the 6’6 physical prospect was one of the most physically imposing prospects at his position. Yessoufou was excellent when he was getting downhill, as many could stop him from getting to the basket and finishing. He embraces contact and knows how to finish strong at the rim, but also shows an expanded game in being able to knock down shots with range. When on the court though, he produced and was engaged all throughout, looking to fill up the stat sheet.” – NBPA Camp in 2024
“If you haven’t heard his name yet, you will and should quickly. He was absolutely off the charts and couldn’t be denied, as he finished with 42 points to lead his team. Yessoufou scored how he wanted when he wanted, and really shot the ball extremely well from outside. He uses his 6’6 frame to his advantage, and can bully and finish through defenders, but did an excellent job in finding ways to create space and his shot. Surprises you with his outside game and his confidence in his perimeter game.” – Patrick O’Brien in 2022
What Does This Commitment Mean to Baylor:
Coming off a huge 2024 recruiting class which gave them a Top-10 class, this is a great start to the Class of 2025 in landing an impressive prospect in Yessoufou. We have watched this 6’6 prospect on several occasions and each time we have, we have walked away impressed. There is a reason why he is a Top-20 prospect in the country, as this is a strong, assertive prospect who understands how to fill it up but also be a stat-stuffer. With his game and body frame, he is a very intriguing matchup on the court; he may be a bit undersized as a forward but is stronger than many wings. Yessoufou has a tremendous wingspan that helps him in a variety of ways, constantly attacks the basket, and knows how to finish well. He moves well, runs the floor, attacks off the bounce, finishes through contact, and can score from outside as well. When watching him, always loved his impact and production to go along with his motor on the court. His physical play should blend in nicely at Baylor, and should only help continue to recent success recruiting-wise for this program.
