Coming off an impressive showing at the inaugural Queen City Showcase, B. Maze Elite 2020 is a team that will be on the recruiting radar for the next three years.
Program director Bobby Maze has a lot to smile about. Coming off an impressive showing at the inaugural Queen City Showcase, B. Maze Elite 2020 is a team that will be on the recruiting radar for the next three years. Based out of Knoxville, Tennessee, B. Maze has a roster full of high major prospects. Starting with 6’4 ’20 Jaden Springer of Rocky River High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. B.Maze Elite simply dominated the competition in pool play and into bracket play.
B. Maze Elite opened up with a 69-30 win over Karolina Khaos 69-30, 81-65 win over Upward Stars Southeast, and an 84-68 win over Team Loaded 704. After going 3-0 in pool play, B.Maze beat Team Charlotte 75-52 and then beat Team Loaded in the championship game by the score of 75-52. We had the chance to speak to program director more at length and we wanted to take the time to share his thoughts on this very talented team.
6’4 ’20 Jaden Springer (Rocky River HS/Charlotte, NC)
We had the opportunity to watch this talented young man at several of our Phenom camps. Each time, he impressed all the scouts in attendance and showcased why is in the conversation as one of the most talented and skilled players in the 2020 class nationally. Program director Bobby Maze stated, “Jaden is an elite talent and one of the top prospects in the 2020 class nationally. He is ranked no. 1 in the Phenom Hoop Report North Carolina 2020 ranking. He is a highly skilled two-way player that can score at all three levels. Jaden plays with tremendous aggressiveness. He is a hard worker and intense competitor. He is the youngest player to be invited to try out for the U16 USA Olympic team and has been invited back to the final try-out. What’s even more impressive is Jaden is only 14 years old and has yet to reach his full potential. Sky is the limit.”
6’8 ’20 Akeem Odusipe (Knoxville Christian School/Knoxville, TN)
Program director Bobby Maze is truly excited about the upside and potential of 6’8 Akeem Odusipe. Maze is stated, “Akeem is a long, athletic big who plays with a high motor. While he is still somewhat raw offensively and relies primary on dunks, put back and finishes around the rim. Akeem will show flashers of good footwork in the post and a jump hook over left shoulder but still rushes on post catches. Protects the rim as a natural shot blocker and has potential to be a GREAT rebounder. Bright future!”
6’2 ’20 Emory Lanier (Webb School/Knoxville, TN)
Maze stated, “Emory is a shooter with a natural stroke and good range. He is excellent in the midrange and has developed a terrific floater. Emory is improving as a finisher as he gains strength. He is currently a combo guard that is more comfortable at the shooting guard position, but does possess a high basketball IQ and a pass-first mentality. We feel he is just now scratching the surface on his potential. He has a tremendous work ethic to match his upside. He is a coach on the floor and the 6’2 lengthy guard still has plenty of growth remaining.”

6’5 Andrew Williams
Lefty. Tough, Hard working forward has touch out to 3pt range and the willingness to mix it up inside. At 6-5 now, he is very young (14) and he is sure to continue to grow. Natural rebounder and crafty finisher around the basket. Likes contact and highly competitive. Has great work ethic and coach-ability. Significant upside.
6’3 Norrance Berry (Cleveland HS/Cleveland, TN)
“Versatility is the key word for “B”. Will play 1-4 and has the willingness, toughness and skill to do whatever is asked of him on both ends. Simply has a knack for being around the basketball. Great rebounder for a guard. Although he is a class of 2019 kid he is a very young Sophomore (15) and would consider a prep year. Once he adds consistency to his outside shot he will become a truly complete player.”
5’11 ’20 Joe Anderson (Maryville High School/Maryville, TN)
“Has been compared to a young Luke Ridnour. High Level Ball handler and Passer. Tremendous hands and feet. We don’t keep stats on deflections but there’s little doubt who leads this group. Just has a knack for making plays on both ends. Wins 50/50 balls! Very good 3pt shooter and has old school feel for the midrange game. Mature game.”

5’8 ’20 Edward (Fulton High School/Knoxville, TN)
“TOUGH!!! Closer the game the bigger he plays. Quick, slick ball handling point with a zest for big moments. Has deep 3 pt. range. Creative layup package, floater game and court vision make him a difficult matchup. Emotional competitor. Aggressive on ball defender.”
6’2 ’20 Tariq Daugton (Webb School /Knoxville, TN)
“Long, Athletic 2 sport athlete. Slashing player who thrives in open court. His biggest strength is his Competitiveness! Simply plays hard and never complain. Has natural ability to score/finish. At his best when attacking. Midrange pull up is most consistent shot. Streaky shooter from 3pt range. “

6’4 ’20 John Hardy (McCallie School/Knoxville, TN)
“Big bodied young man will play PF and C for us at this level but he projects as an undersized stretch 4 with his a ability to mix it up inside along with his ability to step out beyond the arc and knock down the 3pt shot. Has great hands and has knack for finishing in close quarters. With improved conditioning and continued work will become terrific prospect.”
5’10 ’20 Larson “Lucky” Dixon (Austin East High School/Austin, TX)
“Lucky is an attacking player. His strengths are in his physical toughness and ability to play through contact attacking the basket. He is equally physical on the defensive end. As he continues to develop his outside shooting and ball handling to compliment his fearless approach to competing he will improve as a prospect. “
6’3 ’20 John “Trey” Brock (Bell County High School)
“Trey has three great things working for him as a young developing player; 1. He is very coachable 2. He is a very good athlete that plays with consistent effort and 3. He can shoot! So everything he needs to add to his game will come in time. Right now he is adapting to the speed of a more competitive level and he is making a smooth transition. Great team mentality. Bright future.”
