School: White Hall HS (AR)

Phenom Hoops recently caught up with 2025 6’8 Jai’Chaunn Hayes at White Hall HS in Arkansas, as he recently made news with two big offers coming on the table from Auburn and California.  We spoke to him about how the season has been going, as well as what has been going on recruiting-wise for him lately. Check out the latest he had to say.

Season And Game Breakdown:

Phenom: How has everything been going this season for you and your team so far?
Hayes: Everything has been pretty good, we have battled some adversity losing to some pretty tough teams but we’ve taken them as lessons and are preparing for the conference to fully start.  I’m playing solid as of right now as well.

Phenom: How would you best describe your game?
Hayes: I would say I do everything as a player, and I’m willing to do whatever to put my team in a better position to win and get better.

Phenom: How has your game been developing and what have you been wanting to show more about it on the court?
Hayes: I feel like I’ve developed into a player that plays both sides of the ball better, really improved my jump shot, and my leadership. I’ve been trying to assert myself as an impactful leader and make my teammates better, but I’ve improved my shooting/finishing on all levels to become a better shooter.

Recruitment Update:

Hayes was recently in the news as he added two new offers to his list early on, as Auburn and California both entered the race for Hayes’ talent.  He spoke about his thoughts on each with Phenom Hoops, and what kind of relationship he has been able to build with them.

“I’m grateful to receive those two offers back-to-back, glad the staff saw something in me enough to offer me.  The coaches have expressed that they want to build a relationship and seem serious, so I’m looking forward to visits and things of that nature. Auburn is having a successful year and is always one of the top programs players look at, and California is a great school with nice facilities.”

Auburn and California now join a list of Central Arkansas, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Missouri, Sam Houston State, and Vanderbilt as offers on the table, and he said he has developed a strong relationship early on with a few of them.

“I’ve developed the strongest relationship with Arkansas, Ole Miss, and UCA,” he said.  “I’ve visited Arkansas, Missouri, and Vanderbilt, but I’d love to set up visits to Auburn, Ole Miss, and California.”
