An Insider’s Take
Larry McLeod Commits to Arkansas State
By Jamie Shaw
McLeod is ridiculously explosive. He has been that since he was at Southern Lee, with Team Loaded NC and then on to Bull City Prep. He has always had that game changing type of leaping ability that can flip the momentum of a game on its head.
However, during his time at Palm Beach State Junior College, McLeod’s game has rapidly expanded. The 6’5” wing showed that he can be a very effective wing defender, averaging right at 1 steal per game. He also added 10.2 points, and made 12 of his 20 3-point attempts on the season.
McLeod is Arkansas State’s third recruit of this class as he joins North Carolina (by way of Palm Beach State JC) forward Malik Brevard and Arkansas guard Kobe Wilson.
Let’s take a look at how McLeod has performed at Phenom Hoops events…

Larry McLeod 6’5 Team Loaded NC
(Southern Lee NC)
Wow, this kid is long and incredibly explosive. It’s funny what a change of setting can do for a young man. The times we watched McLeod with his high school team, he was a second or third option. However, you put him around some great players and his confidence and production takes off. McLeod finished multiple dunks per game. He defended multiple areas on the floor, and showed good rebounding ability. Expect McLeod to make a huge jump in our 2016 rankings, and D1 schools get in while you can.

6’5” Larry McLeod of Bull City Prep
This young man really impressed us early in the day with his hustle and awareness on the court. Seems like he was everywhere. He also has one of the best verticals at the camp. Enjoyed watching him play.
