An Insider's Take
Grant Gelon Commits to Missouri State
By Jamie Shaw

Sharp Shooter Gelon signed with Indiana out of Crown Pointe High School. Throughout his senior year, Gelon averaged 14.5 points shooting 41.8% from 3, this comes after averaging 17.5 points on 102 3s on 44% from 3. To say the least, this kid can flat out shoot the ball.

Gelon showed up at the 2015 Indiana Top 80 and showcased his ability to put the ball in the hole. He has great size for his position, but it was his understanding and footwork for getting open that set him apart. Gelon transferred from Indiana to State Fair Community College in Missouri.

Throughout the process, Gelon chose Missouri State over offers from the likes of Iona, IUPUI, UIC, Lipscomb and others. He joins Missouri point guard Ronnie Bell as a commitment in the 2018 class.

Let's see what we wrote about Gelon after his performance in Phenom Hoops' events…

Indiana Top 80
'The Indiana commit did what he was known for and that was shoot. As a matter of fact, he is a great shooter. He always knows where to be when running the floor to spot up for 3. Gelon has an excellent shooting touch and mechanics and every shot looks like it is going in. In addition, Gelon knows how to work well with the big man off the ball screen. He has a great attitude and work ethic off advance understanding of the game.'
