Heading down south, 2024 small forward Marcus Allen is already looking to make an imprint on the recruiting world, as the freshman earned his first offer and it was a big one. Coming from a big-time ACC program, Allen recently announced that he received an offer from Florida State.

Allen is a 6'6 prospect from Norland high school in Florida, who is the second-leading scorer for the Vikings this season.  Norland is off to a 14-8 record with Allen averaging 12 points and seven rebounds so far.  The FSU offer was a big one for him, as he discusses his thoughts on the offer and what it has been like early on in his high school career.

PHR: How has it been so far in your early high school career at Norland'
Allen: It has been really good.  A lot of adversity due to the fact of who I am becoming but I really like the Norland program a lot!

PHR: What has it been like playing at the high school level early on for you'
Allen: It has been very competitive and I like the competition.  I'm used to it though since I've been playing 17u all summer long.

PHR: Playing for Suns Team Harris 17u, what did it show you and teach you, playing up at the 17u level and now playing early in high school'
Allen: It showed me that every game, you have to give it your all because, at the end of the day, there are kids trying to get a scholarship, so they are going to come at you with everything they have.

PHR: How would you best describe your game on the floor'' How do you like to attack and where are you strong at'
Allen: I would describe my game on the court as a killer.' I'm going to come at whoever is guarding me.' I like to attack the paint because of the line-ups we run at Norland, I usually get a smaller guard on me since I'm at the 3.

PHR: What areas are you looking to improve in currently or focusing on'
Allen: My shot is there, it just needs to be more consistent but I've been working with my head coach, Coach Lawton, on it and it will improve.  My shot has come a long way from the start of the season until now; I'm knocking down more shots.

PHR: Huge congrats on the big offer from Florida State.  What was that like for you'
Allen: That offer was big!  It showed me what staying in the gym constantly and working hard can do.  All glory to God.

PHR: How did you hear about it'
Allen: I was on a group call with Coach Young and my head coach, Coach Lawton Williams.

PHR: What did they have to say when they offered and what did they like about you'
Allen: Coach Young said he likes how I deal with adversity with all the media attention, he likes that I stay humble, and keep my head level.

PHR: I know it is early but what stands out to you about the program and anything else you may like'
Allen: I like the fact that they are a family-oriented school; everyone gets along with each other and the coaching staff is really great.

PHR: In all, what is it like to earn a big offer from an ACC school, so early for you'  And also, one coming from the Florida area.
Allen: It is really big. It shows that schools are watching me.
